Scholiast on Apollonius Rhodius, Arg. iii. 1086:
That Deucalion was the son of Prometheus and Pronoea, Hesiod
states in the first "Catalogue", as also that Hellen was the son οf Deucalion and Pyrrha.

The district Macedonia took its name from Macedon the son of Zeusand Thyia, Deucalion's daughter, as Hesiod says:
`And she conceived and bare to Zeus who delights in the
thunderbolt two sons, Magnes and Macedon, rejoicing in horses,
who dwell round about Pieria and Olympus....
....And Magnes again (begot) Dictys and godlike Polydecte
η περιοχή της Μακεδονίας πήρε το όνομά της από το Μακεδόνα το γιο του Δία και της Θυΐας, της κόρης του Δευκαλίωνα, και όπως λέει ο Ησίοδος: και συνέλαβε και γέννησε από το Δία τον κεραυνοβόλο, δυό γιους, το Μάγνη και το Μακεδόνα, τον «ιππιοχάρμη»
(αυτόν που μάχεται από το άρμα του)
που κατοικούν γύρω από την Πιερία και
τον Όλυμπο.... και από το Μάγνη πάλι γεννήθηκε ο Δίκτυς και ο θεΐκός
Πολυδέκτης.
